The Official Launch of SkyTOP DemosCAD at UoN

“Technology like DemosCAD are the drivers of reforms” Dr. Kevit Desai

On 12th July 2018, at the University of Nairobi Auditorium, SkyTop Technologies team launched their most recent software tool, the SkyTOP DemosCAD Web-based, which is a software solution meant for designers, engineers, architects and manufacturers who use Autodesk AutoCAD. SkyTOP DemosCAD provides a whole experience and enables one to perfect their expertise before working on a project. DemosCAD has an interface similar to that of AutoCAD. The tools and commands in DemosCAD are similar to the Autodesk AutoCAD. This enables the users to try out their designs and make skillful changes before they embark on their work.

The event was attended by a lot of experts and tech enthusiasts ready to learn about DemosCAD. The chief guest was Dr. Kevit Desai, who is the Ps Ministry of Education, TVETs. Other VIPs in attendance were county directors of various TVETs like Masai TTI and Nakuru TTI. Education institutions including The University of Nairobi, Egerton, Machakos University and Technical University of Kenya had their staff and students present. Corporates like KTN, Radio Africa and New Edge Technologies also attended the launch.

Dr. Kevit encouraged the need to promote local manufacturers, especially in technology. He further said that software and innovation were the key drivers of TVETs and therefore there was every need for software companies and TVETs to collaborate. Detailed and educative presentations were made by the SkyTop CEO Mr. Paniel Mwaura and Engineer Kelvin Karanja.

In his presentation, Mr. Paniel Mwaura, CEO SkyTOP Technologies Ltd reiterated,

 “SkyTOP DemosCAD is a product made and launched in Kenya by Kenyans for the world.”

His presentation focused on the potential of the Kenyan people to be drivers of innovation especially in technology. He mentioned other software innovations in the pipeline that will revolutionize different industries especially the manufacturing industry.

 The afternoon session was an interactive one where the audience took part in different competitions and won different prizes such as flash disks. The big winner of the day, Anthony Angira from Siala TTI won a smartphone.

The competition is still ongoing. Users still have a chance to win different prizes including tablet and laptops.

The audience was very receptive and affirmed that the DemosCAD was indeed a necessary tool in educational institutions and to various companies that use AutoCAD.
