About Us

SkyTOP Technologies Ltd is a company incorporated and registered in Kenya in 2006. Our core business is the development of software solutions for the building and construction industry, the manufacturing industry, and the education sector. Our solutions enhance the adoption and use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software programs by professionals in these sectors (architects, engineering, design, surveying etc), and students and trainers in education and training institutions (high schools, TVETS and universities).

One of our premier products is SkyTOP DemosCAD- a software program that seeks to let design professionals and learners at education institutions around the world become passionate and proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD- the most widely used CAD software program in the world. Through SkyTOP DemosCAD, we expect to generate business by providing innovative solutions that address the skills gap that exists within AutoCAD users around the world.

In order to tap on these opportunities, we are currently undertaking a restructuring and comprehensive expansion programme. Consequently, we seek to recruit a highly skilled and result-oriented individual to fill the following key position within our organization.

Director: Business Development


Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Business Development will work with senior management team towards fostering better business success for the organization. The holder will be expected to lead the company’s business across work environments and sectors by selling professional development experiences. The holder must emphasize on the need for the organization to record positive changes and experience profit growth in its dealings

Essential Responsibilities

Identifying & Pursuing Opportunities:

  1. Identify business opportunities in targeted markets consistent with our business strategy
  2. Develop specific client and opportunity strategies
  3. Lead Go/No Go discussions
  4. Lead team effort to position for targeted pursuits

 Establishing Positive Client Relationships:

  1. Identify and Effectively participate in industry networking opportunities
  2. Identify target clients and opportunities
  3. Meet with potential clients to understand potential opportunities
  4. Meet with decision makers and influencers to understand client needs/objectives
  5. Identify key issues important to clients
  6. Facilitate effective engagement between clients and our operations experts
  7. Document client meetings

 Competitor Knowledge

  1. Identify and research competitors
  2. Understand strengths and weaknesses of competitors
  3. Lead effective teaming strategies when appropriate
  4. Inform win strategy development based on competitive intelligence

 Developing Win Strategies

  1. Understand decision process and who decision makers will be
  2. Develop clear understanding of client decision drivers
  3. Develop Win Strategies focused on the best approach to deliver client value

 Lead Proposal and Interview Preparation

  1. Lead the process of developing proposals and presentations focused on defined Win Strategies
  2. “Own” the proposal process, working closely with Operations and Proposals partners
  3. Provide proposal writing leadership or support
  4. Lead team development of presentations
  5. Effectively coach presentation teams

 Help Identify Strategic Hires

  1. Identify strategic hiring needs based on targeted opportunities
  2. Keep internal recruiters informed of key hire needs
  3. Reach out to industry network to help identify strategic hire candidates

 Maintain Client Relationships

  1. After winning assignments, serve as internal “client advocate”
  2. Help Hill be sure we are staying in touch with client needs
  3. Develop client strategies to help have specific plan to always keep client interests as our primary focus


  1. Conducts review to determine potential conflict of interest
  2. Provides intelligence to support pricing strategy
  3. Participates in legal and contractual review
  4. Leads execution of teaming agreements and memo of understandings (MOU’s) with team

Minimum Qualifications

 Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills

  1. Self-motivated, success oriented and organized
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in Operations or Business Development role for a professional services firm, preferably with specific Construction Management experience.
  3. Candidate must hold a BA or equivalent degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering or, Architecture. He/She should have wide experience in the sales and marketing of software solutions (preferably CAD software products).
  4. Travel as needed/expected
  5. Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
